    C2 Oil Canister retainer clip

Anyone have a good picture of an original oil canister clip. It's the clip that holds all the parts in place. I need to rebuild one of my canisters, any naturally the clip is missing.

    Thanks

    Harry,
Picture of original canister from my 66 C2/L79 and a recently purchased "restored original". From the pictures of what I think is the original canister, does not appear to have a clip holding assembly together, rather looks like two "swaged" tabs is what holds the hardware in place (see separate hardware). I have close up pictures of the new canister. It has a thinner wall, and the bolt head markings "AP" are slightly different. The new canister does have a clip. Frank

I was faced with the same situation several months ago, I still haven't decided on a plan or taken the time to attempt rebuild of my original C-1 cannister. Don't want to purchase a repro unit and don't want to convert to spin-on either.....
