    Insuring a newer corvette

I currently have two classic cars, a 1967 corvette and a 1965 El Camino, insured with the National Corvette Museum insurance agency. My daily driver vehicles are insured with State Farm.

I'm hoping to purchase a newer corvette, probably a late C7. If you have a similar situation, did you insure your C7/C8 with NCM insurance or with your daily driver insurance company?

    Thanks,

    Don

Add it to your NCM policy. It will be way cheaper than State Farm.

Yes, my newer ones are on the same policy as my C2s. There is a discount for more cars, but remember mileage is limited, I think 6000 miles per year is max you can get.

Also remember there are driving restrictions on classic car insurance such as do not drive it for errands.

          Don

My C7 is a daily driver (avg about 12k miles/year), so regular insurance company. (USAA)

How do they know you are on an errand or just out for a cruise. You need to talk to them before you make a statement like that! If you have either the 3000 or 6000 limit you must remember your unused miles roll over from year to year, so basically you only have that limit the first year unless you drive your Corvette more than 90% of the Corvette owners.

ASK your State Farm agent for a quote, older collector cars on a stated value policy low milage are dirt cheap, I have a 67 and 70,95 ZR1 all under $400 a year, C7 is not all that bad I looked at NCM and State Farm was better No tickets and all the discounts add up Worth a call.

Don I switched my 15 to NCM a few years ago at halve the price of State Farm. the first 3 years of ownership i put about 24000 miles the next 2 I only put on 6000 so I figured 6000 a year would be fine. so far it is working out.

When my 2008 was new I added it to my NCM policy with "unlimited miles." I don't remember the cost, but the agreed value policy at the NCM was worth it to me. I kept that mileage limit until the pandemic and reduced it at that time. One doesn't have to be restricted to 6000 miles/year, however one does have to have other vehicles as "daily drivers."
