    Gary, sorry I wasn't clear. I know that the outer case of the regulator has the part number and L or R cast into the case. I don't know if the internal gear is different or not. There must be a specific L and R regulator and gear hence the Left side only offered by these two vendors for this specific gear kit and they both offer a L&R for the aluminum fabricated gear that has teeth all the way around. My thought would also be the driver side is used significantly more than the passenger side and fewer R side gears become gauled.

        I did some more digging (and speaking with Jimmy Gregg) and to answer the questions, the left and right internal gears are different from side to side and they are not interchangeable. Why Paragon only makes the left side is probably a matter of economics and demand because the Passenger side is most likely much less used. Thanks Jimmy for the pics and clarification on this question.

            This is most likely a universal fit for either side if teeth do a 360. My guess.

                Completed the repair today. All went well. Ordered from Zip but received a Paragon product. The new gear did not come with the spring clip housed inside of the regulator gear slot. Just reused the original. Tapped housing to 1/4 20 and used the supplied screws and locks that came with the kit.
