    C3 Antenna Angle

I was just curious ... I was looking critically at the rear antenna and notice that it has a measured 3.5 degree angle tilted towards the center of the rear deck. (late 1970 coupe). It is approx. 2.5 deg slanted towards the rear.

Is this normal or is it supposed to be exactly perpendicular to the ground?

    Thanks!

    Re: C3 Antenna Angle

Bill, I had a similar issue with the antenna on my late 70 convertible, it was tilted toward the center of the car. If I recall correctly, I asked about this on this board and was told it was not normal. In my case I was able to simply loosen the antenna, rotate it, re-tighten it, and it ended up being straight.

2.5 - 3.5 degrees is close to perfectly vertical... probably within production variance. How did you measure this?

With that said, I did the same as Pat... rotated the mast until visually vertical. My antenna had a slight bow as well which I gently corrected.

        Pat & Mark - Thanks!

I loosened the base nut and was able to make a small adjustment which now looks very much improved. I used an inclinometer (angle meter) but one could visually the angle before. Now looks straight.

        Thanks again!
