Do they have Mustang & Thunderbird designers working at GM now. That is disgraceful!

There's been talk/speculation for decades of making the Corvette a Cadillac or making it it's own marque instead of a Chevrolet model.

I'm sure most of use aren't looking forward to this happening, but it's all about marketing.

The name has a lot of cache' and look how successful Porsche and the Italian exotics have been selling SUVs and sedans with more to come.

Doesn't GM have enough SUVs and crossovers? Next we'll have a Corvette pickup.

If they feel they need more people movers, bring back Oldsmobile, Pontiac or La Salle instead of diluting the Corvette brand.

Remember, Porsche expanded their brand with a Porsche SUV and 4-door, NOT a 911-SUV.

Good point Mark, the comparisons to Porsche are incorrect. Porsche was always a car manufacturer, not a model. Porsche made lots of different models, the 911 was just one of them, so a Cayenne or Cayman, or Boxster is no big deal. Just as Chevrolet made lots of models, and Corvette is just one of them. To degrade the model name, as Ford did with the Mustang, by attaching it to various models that have nothing whatsoever to do with the original model ideal and concept, is not the kind of marketing that will ever keep most Corvette buyers interested, IMO.

My Momma always said if I couldn't say something nice, to say nothing at all.

So, I'm saying nothing at all.

We going to judge that 4-door?

I would not put too much into these prediction as I have followed "GM Authority" for a while. They are
an independent company that has no connection with GM. Some of their past predictions where not too
accurate to say the least. Just by reading them is appears they are Pro Cadillac and Anti Chevrolet.
The big volume Chevrolet dealers would never agree to this and they represent a good % of GM Revenue.
These big volume Chevrolet dealers are needed to "finance" some of the GM Fiasco ideas of the past and present..

Brother,Mary can,t build the corvettes we need now how in heavens name will a line of corvettes be built? Where will the minerals come from to build the batteries? We left all of that to the Chi Coms when we ran away from Afganistan. What GM really needs is another Chevy Cruse so i can do my 130 mile commute a little cheaper.

BTW, MCA will not allow the electric SUV thing Ford calls a Mustang into any judging meet. Yes, Ford calls it a "Mustang"...https://www.ford.com/suvs/mach-e/models/
