Port config on 69 vacuum canister

Oriented as installed in the car, does the upper or lower port on a vacuum canister connect to the intake manifold?? Mine was disconnected long ago and want to test with MityVac to see if it still holds vacuum. Guessing not which drove the disconnect by prior owner.

Are you talking about the tank bolted to the LH inner fender??

If you use a MityVac, block either port, pull vacuum on the other. 68-69's only had two ports.
In the 69 AIM, UPC 12, Sht. A8 & A8.5 show the tank and hose routing. The upper port is the hose that come from the intake, through the check valve.

Hooked up mityvac. Like hooking up to a sponge....held absolutely nothing. So out it comes in the hopes of repair/restore. Research seems to indicate silver solder is the way to go once leaks are identified. Good news is...most everything else is already drained...meaning easy enough to get master cylinder out..working on getting brake lines out of the way..and clutch stuff as needed. Just the next restore rabbit hole.
