Hi,
I am still working on the integration of a base 350/290 hp GM crate motor into my base model 1963 convertible [came with 250 hp and no power steering, AC, etc.]. I understand that my car originally did not have a heat shield for the starter solenoid. Is there any functional benefit to installing a solenoid heat shield on my crate motor? If so, which model year/style shield would you recommend? The starter that I have installed is rebuilt AC Delco [ADO 336-1847].
Thanks,
Rob
