65-66 power antenna switch �feel�

Working on a switch that was non-functional. Now functional, but before we button it up, should it snap back to neutral position? We found nothing inside (no spring, etc.) that would cause it to do that. It kinda lazily goes from either up or down position to a central rest position. Correct?
