On 57 fuel cars is the wiper motor base to cowl vent firewall stud a coated wire or a strap?

Re: 1957 wiper motor base to cowl vent ground
Lynn, AIM doesn't seem to indicate any difference between FI & carb cars. Believe this wire to be prob 16 ga black thermoplastic insulated wire approx 12-14 inches long with ring terminals both ends. This is based on what came with my wiring harness kit and measurements taken in the car (not very accessible). Hope this helps a bit.- Top

Yes I've worked on many and it's a insulated black wire not braided. Wire assy part# 3733145.
The worst part of this ground design is that attaches to the cowl vent brace, which also is attached to the underdash metal reinforcement, which gets its Ground from another wire in the harness under the dash, from the engine ground at the valve cover....
If you're in Boston, it's like getting on a flight to NYC via Chicago....
