    Re: Console paint

Anybody care to venture a guess or suggest a paint? Any trick to getting paint to stick to the surface?

      Mike,

It is a satin finish. Clean it good, scuff it with scotch brite, then wipe it with wax and grease remover. Then spray it. Mask it good.

      Good luck !

Thanks guys. The paint is just flaking off, with no wear, so I’m sure it wasn’t prepared properly for paint. I’ll follow your directions, Andrew. I forgot how pretty your interior was. I love your teak wheel with the silver, I might put one on this summer after National judging.

                Mike,
                I found this link helpful.
Zip's project 1964 console had started to show its age so a repair was in order. Watch us convert our console from an eyesore to eye appeal.
