    69 L46 brake pedal height

I'm in the final stage of completing this car and I am now just fixing the things that I already fixed.

Anyhow, I had a brake fluid leak on this manual brake car that I just fixed. I bench bled the MC again, bled the entire system and I have a nice firm pedal. However the pedal depresses further than I remember or am used to (restoration has been off/on this car for 10 years). I checked AIM and it says 2-3/4 to 3 1/8" travel. I have about 3" travel as best I can measure. I've got about another 2 1/2 to 3" of travel left till it touches the floor. Is this normal and OK?

    Thanks much,
    Rich

You don't mention if the car has power brakes, or not, and there could be a difference. However, I can tell you that for a manual brake application, yours sounds about right to me.

      HI Joe,

Manual brakes on this one. It's been so long since I drove it that the pedal just seemed lower than it should be. But then, I'm not comparing to other vettes like mine either. I'll be a little tentative the first time out....

      Thanks for the response.

        Richard,

I have a manual brake '70 I can measure when I get home if you'd like. The pedal is so high the top of my shoe often kicks the AC duct in front of it.
