Need help, left my TIMJG at home & came across this M/C

    Does/is this M/C look correct for a '63 coupe with a Nov. 1 '62 build date? Thanks

The list below is believed to be the only dates on 63 master cylinders. With a 11/1/62 build date, the ones highlighted in black are your choices.

I think the K23 and K31 is too close to your build date.

If you have power brakes you need one with the additional bleeder. If you can't find one, you can have it tapped to add the bleeder. That's all GM did.

    G-11-2
    J-10-2
    J-20-2
    K-23-2
    K-31-2
    L-30-2
    M-29-2
    A-5-3
    A-9-3
    A-15-3
    B-22-3
    C-25-3
    C-26-3

Thanks Harry but you got me confused, would not the date code be a "C" for a Nov '62 cast date and "J" being '63 cast date? The date code looks to me like "C102" but could be my eyes and still learning...Thanks Jack

Jack, parts dates start in January. So C 26 3 is March 26th, 1963. Likewise, G 11 2 is July 11th 1962. They did not use the letter I.

From your picture I can not read the date on your MC, what do you see?

Good question..."C", "B" or "G" is my guess. Going to go look at it tonight...Jack
Per your table "G" would be a match...correct?

If the last three numbers are 10 2 or 20 2, then the first letter is a J. J is good also for you.

Thanks to everyone for the help. As it turns out it was a L 30 2 cast date witch won't work for me. To bad as it was in good shape other than surface rust, can't win them all...thanks Jack
