I know I posted this a few years back...
DOT marking must be on any light sold in the USA, no way around it. NHTSA FMVSS 208. And stamping DOT on the back doesn't count. It has to be on the front glass or plastic lens.
The off road only got around that for a bit.
Someone might have ratted out the supplier.
Or the supplier was challenged on the 'Off Road Use Only' in that its fairly clear 99% of the use is On road. Even though the cars in question don't see a lot of night use, much less even leaving their trailers.
There are people that have originals, the key before powering them up is to re seal the contacts in the event on the shelf the seal was compromised.
