    1966 Battery dimensions?

What should the battery dimensions be for a 1966 BB?
Are the battery tray dimensions as follows: 7 1/16" Wide x 10 3/16" Long?

    Many thanks!

    According to Interestatebatteries.com this car uses a Group 34 battery which they say measures 6 3/4"W x 10 13/16"L x 7 13/16"H.

Agree with Jimmy. The stock battery is a group 24. A group 34 will work. It is the same width and length as the group 24 but about 1" shorter in height. If you're looking for correctness, go with the group 24.

On any midyear with an expansion tank on the passenger side, like non-A/C smallblocks and 65 L78s, I like to buy the shorter Group 34 batteries mostly so my attempt at reconnecting the battery cables doesn't result in a 'spark show'.

The Interstate Battery website specs group 34 for 427, group 24 for 327. Is this correct or do all 1966s use group 24?

If using the correct group 24 Delco battery there is a minor standard deduction however which AC Delco battery is that for?
Just looking at one however it has a yellow top and AC Delco also shows two with black tops -Sealed Maintenance Free and
another Advantage Series. So which qualifies as a Standard Deduction (the 50% one)? or do any of the present Delco ?
