First post ever - feel a bit stupid.
I need some help clarifying a confusion. My car is estimated produced in late February 1958. 283 cu inch with dual Carters (270 hp).
It seems there were two different fuel pumps used that year: #4445 and #4656.
The Noel Adams book points me to the #4656 based on my production date.
Further, I am getting conflicting info in forums and threads as to the clocking or orientation of #4656. I know #4445 has ports approx 180 degrees apart and #4656 some 45 degrees apart. The question is whether the ports on #4656 faced the front of the engine or the rear.
1) Can someone confirm which model is correct for me?
2) Should the ports on the #4655 face the front or rear of the engine?
Many thanks!!
