66 oil pan, lower clip for front two spark plug wires; Finish?

Gary------There is a metal clip on each side of oil pan, attached with an oil pan screw, below the front boomerang shield, thru which the front two spark plug wires run. (This is not the upper clip for the two plug wires that has the two rubber coated slots.) The ‘66 JG mentions the lower clips on page 122, but doesn’t say what finish they have.
The repro clips I got from LIC are black spring steel, I think. I’m trying to confirm if they should be painted engine orange. I don’t find then listed in the ‘66 AIM by itemized part number; one clip is identified on UPC 6 B3 as a “clip” in the sketch. Which suggests to be they were not installed at St. Louis, but rather at the engine plant and therefore we’re installed on the motor when the oil pan was added and therefore would be painted orange when the motor was painted. Can someone confirm this for me?
The clip on the LH side of my motor is shown at the center of this photo. Now is the time for me to hit each clip with engine orange if that’s correct.
