Mike,
Sounds like you think you might have the answer! Unfortunately, he didn't remember where the junkyard was. His last name was Cohen, which has nothing to do with the Corvette. I've looked through my email records and can't find him.
What is the Bennettsville and Floyd Richardson connection?

Re: 1960 Big Brake Tanker Corvette
lea, the kids and i were returning from a camping vacation in south carolina in 1970. we elected to avoid I95 on the trip back to morgantown wva . we were traveling in a 1953 cadillac hearse. can't remember the route # but we were just a couple miles south of bennettsville SC when i looked out the caddy and c-1 and c-2 corvettes started coming into view. there were probably 150 to 200 corvettes, some with good size trees growing out of the engine compartment. i'd just bought my first vet, the white 57 so i stopped and met floyd. Big man, diabetic with bandages on one of his feet. got a 57 wonderer complete for 25 bucks. after that, anytime we were in the area, i'd stop and gather up used vet parts. after he died in the 80-90 time frame, i heard someone from new england bought all the carcasses and hauled them north in 17 eighteen wheelers. i have one of his cards here somewhere. His rollback had its stock cab removed and a 56-7 body was placed in the cab's location on the rollback. good luck, mike- Top
