    Anthony, in general it’s always best to use original stuff whenever possible when doing a restoration. The reproduction stuff 99% of the time is just not as good. Now of course consumable things like bushings etc obviously it makes sense to replace.

        One caveat: In the factory service manual GM advises that these spring bolts should always be replaced whenever they are removed from the car. I wonder what they'd say about re-installing 50+ year old bolts?

        Once-upon-a-time GM used to supply in SERVICE a UNIT which included bolts, nuts, cushions, and retainers. GM #14029851.
