69 L68 Shifter Bushings

Hi all,

Just about ready to finish off my shifter refurb and install and wanted some help on the correct fitment of the shifter bushings B7334 in the attached image. i'm assuming one low one high?

Grahame, I rebuilt my shifter last year and I don’t remember the bushings being in there. Unless they were stuck in there and I didn’t know it.

Thanks Chris,

Its weird as they don't seem to fit under the reverse rod mechanism. I'm assuming they're an anti rattle bushing and may need to be resized a little to make them fit. The thickness will make them a very very tight fit anyway so i'll give it another go on the weekend.

In all the factory Muncie Shifters I've reworked, only one had an original shaft bushing and it fit perfectly. The repro's...not so much.
Kind of annoying that they'd sell something that just doesn't fit...I know, big surprise, right?
Check out the two pics showing the difference in thickness between the fat repros and the original thinner bushing.
I even tried chucking a strip of wet/dry paper in an ill-fated attempt to thin it out. DSCN3229.jpgDSCN3230.jpg
