I searched the forum and didn't find anything but anyone know where there is documentation on how to go about restoring a 1958 Corvette? I imagine it would be the same for all C1s.

I found a nice write up for C2s.

The process would take up a small book to describe the process to restore a C1. At best you may find articles on different areas of restoration.

I had my 59 column restored by Masterworks Restoration in Sterling Heights, MI. They completly disassemble the unit and repair/replace any worn items. I was going to try and do it myself, but after a tour of the shop, I'm confident you'll be satified with the results

Search Joe Calcagno RARE Corvettes. He has a series of 8 detailed videos on C1 steering box/column restoration. They are excellent.

The entire steering box rebuild process is included in the

ST-12 CSG

See Section 9-4 "Steering Gear and Mast Jacket"

If your worm and sector roller bearing are unusable, there are complete rebuild kits available. However, there are a few adjustments that need to be done differently using the repro worm gear.
