    Cigarette lighter

Curious- did all 1963-1967 Corvettes have continuous 12 Volts at the cigarette lighter even with the the key removed? Thanks, Jack J.

I beleive that in 1967 they were fused. 1963 to 1966 were "hot" at all times.

I believe 1967 and C3 lighters are fused and hot at all times.

The 1967 Assembly Manual shows a 14 Red coming from the fuse panel! Somewhere it becomes a 12 Red at the Fuse Panel.

According to the Assembly Manual it was fused at the fuse block. No Inline fuse! But it would not be a bad idea anyway!

              Yes.

63-66 unfused. 1967 was fused via the Orange circuit sourced at the fuse panel, bottom fuse... "LTR (--------) CTSY HAZ"

Can anyone tell me if the corvette lighter is threaded to accept the Casco L2C fuse? I can't remember but after reading this I am going to fuse mine.

What woukd the typical deduction be if a judge sees a Casco fuse attached to the back side of the cigarette lighter on a 63-66? Can someone lead me thru the deduction rubric for that added item?

                      Thanks,

                      Gary

Gary, no deduction. It's the wiring not the lighter. There are 5 originality points for the fuse panel and the wiring. Give 2.5 to the panel and 2.5 to the wiring. Out of all that wire, there is one with a fuse. Slash the box, made a note and move along.
