    Vendor to rechrome original bumpers ?

    Hello;
    Need help finding a reputable company to rechrome original bumpers.
    Just chroming, not belting the original wavey tops.

    Thank you.

    Hi Ray,

    I have heard very good things about Paul's Chrome.
    They "de-chromed" some valve covers for me and did an excellent job...although I have not personally had parts chromed by them...

    thx,
    Mark

      Paul's or Librandi's...both in Pennsylvania.

        I was favorably impressed by Librandi's from a few years ago. Very reasonable price and quick turnaround.

          Sandy's in Syracuse, NY - I was told they are good but the turn a round is not the fastest.

            Ray,

            Paul's did a lot of chrome work for me and Dave Ewan on multiple '57's over the years. Some of Paul's chrome work is over 30 years old and still looking like new!

            They ain't cheap and not fast, but they're worthwhile IMHO.

              I had excellent service with Librandi for the bumpers and vent window frames on my 67 and my friend’s 65. I did not notice that one of the brackets was bent until I tried to mount one of the rear bumpers. Librandi repaired and rewelded the bracket and rechromed the bumper again without charging me the second time. I think most places would just say it was my fault for bringing them a bad bumper. I was amazed to be treated so kindly.

              If you want to keep the waviness in the bumper you need to make that known in advance because they make the bumpers look perfect as a standard job. I liked the perfectly smooth bumpers but I was not concerned that they looked far better than new.

                  Driveline Vendor/commercial ad, Speed and Sport Chrome has had some good reviews too.

                    Paul's chrome plating did some bumpers and tail pipe tips for me over 25 years ago--still look great. I have also had Speed Sport do chrome work on my air cleaner cover. It looks great as well.
