In a number of places, the Judging Guide identifies certain parts usage as being correct for Early or Later production cars, but does not give a serial number cut-off to distinguish what is deemed to be Early and Later. For example, P.159 of the Guide covers the two different oil filler caps in use for 1962 models:
"1962 early production - uses a cadmium plated cap with "AC" and "OIL" embossed in the top."
"1962 later - uses a fair-quality flash-chrome plated cap with "AC" & OIL" embossed in the top."
So, how does one determine what is "early production" and what is "later" for that particular item?
I suspect a judge must have some specific guidance on cut-off numbers for reference, and if that's correct, why is it not in the TIM & Judging Guide? Did I simply overlook it?
Thanks.
