Option K66 (Transistor Ignition) Wiring Harness Tape

The AIM notes that the part number for the electrical tape that is wrapped around the K66 harness is part Number 3724851. I did a search on the internet and found this part number for sale however, it is a black PLASTIC wrap. The tape used to wrap the K66 harness is a black CLOTH tape and there is also a white COTTON covering the resistor wire that goes to the coil. The AIM also calls out 2 pieces in length - one that is 12" long and another that is 8" long. It appears that the 8" long piece is the wrapping around the wire going to the coil....... (Is that correct?)

    1) Does anyone know of a source for the black COTH tape or the white COTTON covering (or perhaps they are the same)?
    2) Did these come together as a kit when this part number was ordered or was there a separate part number for the white COTTON covering?

My local mom and pop hardware store sells the black cloth tape.

ACE hardware has it as #M Friction Tape (3407NA). HD has it as well. "old fashioned" electrical tape. We wrapped warn out baseballs with it back in the sandlot days and kept on playing.

Yes, the wires are long there and they get looped and wrapped with the black cloth(friction) tape to secure them.

IIRC, the 12" length gets wrapped around both the TI & Forward Harnesses where they pass over the core support. This prevents the harnesses from chafing on the edge of the metal.

I recall using friction tape on my hockey stick blades when I was a kid.
