    67 ECL code quetions

I have the book and completely understand how it all works. but ECL codes pertain to interior and body options, correct? if so why is RPO C48 not included in any ECL listing? Someone contacted me trying to figure out a L88 tribute car and it has a interior 414 BP and the car has a hard top and not four options listed not used with.

And the car is very well done clone/ tribute with all the correct dated parts etc.

Mark you of all people should know there is no such thing as radio delete as it was an option so it was just a none radio car. Or in this case a standard/base dash.

        Good point Keith
Not enough coffee yet, I guess.

But I guess my point is the U69 option was so highly ordered (~97%) that the "Base no Radio" car with a painted block off plate became the odd-ball in the dash assembly and paint system - not the other way around.

Have a good Labor Day Holiday !
        thx,
        Mark

On C2s there was no block off plate, just no cut in the center dash area.

correct Mike so the "base" dash is as such and required no modification. but the added option of C48 required the two plugs painted (or molded in color) I have no clue what the plugs really are as I never touched one. and the the block off plate of the heater hole. plus engine dress line side parts.

Just as Base Dash UPC 1 Bolt Weld Sheet A9 shows...

I've never seen a non-radio C2 - does it have a speaker grill over the holes in the dash - even though there's no speaker ?

                  Re: 67 ECL code quetions

On no radio cars there is typically a piece of black paperboard installed under the speaker grille.
IIRC ECL's referred to different components in the option depending on it's particular installation.
EX- If an option was for the BB and SB but the intallations required different components.
EX Power Steering - BB SB - then SB high performance and Big Block high performance. So there are probably at least 4 ECLS for power steering.

Heater Delete included the block offs, the hose caps, did midyears have the heavy black paper blank offs for the defroster ducts?, all of which would be the same for a Small block roadster to a Big Block coupe.

                    James,

Per Noland Adams there were 7 ECLs for Power Steering:

AA Base Engine - Not available with L88
                    AB L79
                    AD L79 and C60
                    AH L36 and C60
                    AK L36
                    AM L71
                    AN L79, C60 and K19

Per Noland Adams there were 10 ECLs for Heater delete (some got reused in Rev 1):

AA Convertible with Base Engine or L79

AE Convertible with L36 or L71
AF Coupe with L36 or L71
                    AG Convertible with L88
                    AH Coupe with L88
AA (Rev. 1 - 4/14/67 to 7/12/67) Convertible with Base Engine or L79
AB (Rev. 1 - 4/14/67 to 7/12/67) Coupe with Base Engine or L79
                    AG (Rev. 1 - 4/14/67 to 7/12/67) Convertible with L36 or L71
                    AH (Rev. 1 - 4/14/67 to 7/12/67) Coupe with L36 or L71
                    thx,
