    Sealing a vacuum tank

I have a vacuum tank I acquired that does not leak but does have some internal corrosion that I hear rattling around.

Is there a product that can be poured into it to seal it? Maybe some sort of liquid epoxy?

This is a tricky one. One thought...find a different tank?? Otherwise...cut it open to dump out bits...evaporust...reseal via silver solder..pretty extreme but all I got.

The tank doesn't leak and is in good cosmetic condition, so I don't want to tear it apart.

There's a variety of liquid tank sealer products out there that may be a good application for this job. I just wanted to learn if someone has a specific product recommendation from their experience.

        Mark,
How do you plan on introducing a sealant to a sealed container??

Through one of the vacuum ports.

I can't really be helpful...but to clarify...you are not wanting to just seal the interior ...you want/should immobilize the particles somehow??

I've already shaken and blown out the loose stuff inside. I was thinking of pouring in some sort of sealant to prevent further corrosion and leaks. I wondered if someone has done this and which product they used.

Well...it not a sealant..but best suggestion I have would be Evaporust. I have used it extensively and am a big fan. But you would either have to fill the entire tank...or fill enough to be a few inches high and let it sit on each side for a day or two. That will eliminate any rust in there and likely be good to go for many many years if not forever. Those vac ports are so small might be challenging to fill and drain.

                  Mark,
There are companies that seal the inside of gas tanks. I don't know if it would work, just a suggestion.
                  Kind regards
