Today there is a ballet of logistics throughout the supply chain with "first in first out"(FIFO) the rule of the day.
Back then there was a lot more batch and store- one long time material/logistics guy labelled it FISH- First in still here.
The assembly plant I worked in back in the 80's had a 2-3 days supply of sheet metal parts in a vast storage area near the train unloading docks.- Top

Another sure bet "Batch Built" item would be Delco Starter#1107352. My thinking is that vast majority
where built on one day or days in 1965 for the L78. Then a remainder where carried over for the M22's in 1966 and beyond. Remember
the "Late John Pirkle" indicated he only saw 2 or 3 in his entire life of rebuilding starters. Picture of this
