I'm wondering why the excessive elapsed time. I know it wasn't first-in first-out in those days, but any guesses other than they were digging deep in storage? And if they were digging deep, why? By the way, those trannies were built February 2, February 16, and February 27.
To add to the mystery, one of them has a factory X-out on the A suffix, and the proper C stamped next to it.
Where were the transmissions stored in the St. Louis plant?

Today there is a ballet of logistics throughout the supply chain with "first in first out"(FIFO) the rule of the day.

Back then there was a lot more batch and store- one long time material/logistics guy labelled it FISH- First in still here.
The assembly plant I worked in back in the 80's had a 2-3 days supply of sheet metal parts in a vast storage area near the train unloading docks.

The Camaro switched from Muncie to Borg Warner mid 74 Model Year... was the Corvette the same?

          James,

          Yes.

I had a late build 1974 convertible (@ 31000 serial number) with a Borg Warner transmission.

          Regards,

Another sure bet "Batch Built" item would be Delco Starter#1107352. My thinking is that vast majority
where built on one day or days in 1965 for the L78. Then a remainder where carried over for the M22's in 1966 and beyond. Remember
the "Late John Pirkle" indicated he only saw 2 or 3 in his entire life of rebuilding starters. Picture of this
starter below from my files. Larry
