    Re: 63 window sticker

Mark-- I got my information in 1989, directly from GM of Canada. Back then, you could correspond with a GM employee named Larry Davidson, and the letter was on "General Motors of Canada Limited" letter head. The source material was something called the Monthly Imported Shipping report. To GM of Canada, Corvettes were imported cars. I guess GM in US did not save their corresponding monthly exported shipping report or anything else. To avoid highjacking this thread, I will start a new thread with pictures of the old stuff, and a list of the other 26 Corvettes on my data sheet.

I guess when Larry Davidson retired there was no one in GM to do this great service, and Vintage Vehicle Services took it over. Its a good thing that they did.

      Thanks, Patrick,

I look forward to your new post !

I wonder if Corvettes imported to Canada from St. Louis had duties or surcharges added to them ?
and did those charges (if they existed) get itemized on a window sticker or some other dealer document ?

If so, that's probably why GM - (and Ford to a greater extent) had so many plants in Canada.
      not so much for Chrysler...

The only active Ford plants left that I worked in are Oakville and Windsor Engine.
Niagra Falls Glass; Windsor Casting; Ontario Truck; St. Thomas Assembly all gone or retooled to do something else...

I fondly remember driving rather fast on the QEW (BEAUTIFUL ROAD !) ever mindful of the OPP as they did not mess around if you got stopped
      thx, Mark
