C1 Oil Fill Tube & Intake Manifold Radiator Hose Clearance

Hi, my engine that is going in my 58 Corvette is not the original engine. It is a 327 and I am looking for advice on what I can do where I have clearance issues with trying to install the upper radiator hose to the intake manifold water neck. The oil filler tub is too close to the water neck to allow the hose to go on.

Can I move the oil filler tube out of the way a little bit? If I can, how would I go about doing that safely?

I was thinking about inserting a large pipe (about the same diameter as the inner diameter of the oil filler tube) and trying to gentle wiggle it to see if I can make more room for the hose to properly fit.

Any advice is appreciated.

use a different configured water outlet. you have a C2 250HP outlet. i'm going to fresco and can bring you one, no charge. mike mccagh

agree with the Rev mike. i doubt the intake is correct based on the location of the temp sending unit. mike

and you may want to check the orientation of the motor mount bolts. Good luck with your project.

Thanks. Besides the motor mount bolts not being tightened down yet, what is wrong with the orientation? The AIM shows the motor mount bolts coming from the bottom up.

Also, I appreciate all the other comments about the engine, but like I said in my original post this engine is not an original and I am using what I have when I can because I don't have the finances to do a completely perfect restoration.
