Yes, 1966 and prior was unfused and fed via a Red wire directly from Bat+. 1967 was fed from the Courtesy lamp/Brake lamp/Glove box lamp circuits, Orange wire, fused.

So, I'll do some more research to see if that special female connector is available somewhere. Also the bullet pin like on the lighter element, which is threaded.

As you can see, the bullet pin is not threaded. Unless the 63-69 service replacement differs from the production part.

You said the pin is “threaded”. I’m under the assumption that the lighter housing for 63-69 is GM 3794298, as shown in this photo.

Gary, The pin is threaded on its ID to screw on to the threaded male stud of the 3 prong element contactor.

I may be able to make some on my lathe if I can't locate replacements. Since it will attach to the fuse wire lead using solder, it won't need to be threaded. Just a hole for the wire to insert into it.

But I just came up with another idea....

Yes... I got this. I'll unscrew the pin from the lighter. I'll make a fuse adapter with mating threaded ends. One male, one female. You'll unscrew the pin from your lighter and screw it onto my fuse wire. Then screw the other end onto the lighter threaded stud.

Push the harness special female clip onto the other end of the fuse with my machined pin. Done.

I'll play around in the shop today and see if I can make two, one for you and one for Fred. (I need a break from yard and house fix work. I've been at it for 3 straight weeks every since we got home from NH)

Rich, your electrical expertise is much appreciated. I fully understand about the yard and house chores . Will be glad to compensate you for time and materials and shipping when done.
              Thanks!

Then I screwed the female end of the Casco fuse onto the male threads at the end of the lighter housing:

This morning I made the pieces to create my prototype fuse holder adapter. I started a new thread for simplicity and easier searching.

Gary, Great. I had a feeling you didn't realize it was threaded. Glad you're all set.

Fred, send me a email via our messaging system, (click on my name), with your full shipping address and I'll send one out to you to try out.
