69 Seat Belt Grommets that insert in the carpet

    Guys,

Does anyone know where to find these? Seems they have been discontinued and I have looked at several vendors. Any ideas? I need saddle for a 69 if anyone has any used ones.

    Thanks

    Lawrence

There was a previous thread on this not long ago, Lawrence. I believe the answer was only used ones were available. Maybe there are reproductions now. Good luck.

Stay away from the reproductions. The originals were hard plastic, the repros are made of rubber and are utter garbage. You need to find originals in the usual places such as eBay and swap meets. Good luck in your search.

          Lawrence,
You may be able to 3D print one... I know some guys were 3d printing some other plastic interior pieces which were also made of unobtainium.

            Lawrence,

Try David Sokolowski out in California. I got some used black ones from him that were in better shape than my originals. You can find his phone number in the member ads in the Driveline.

And to get one ready for TRYING to do business with him...grab some jello and a string. Now go outside and find a tree. Try to push the jello UP the tree with the string.

Does this grommet have a GM part #? My late 69 vert did not have these. Guessing the carpet was redone at some point. Anyone know if Al Knoch installs these when they do a carpet?

I bought my 69' seatbelt grommets from David Sokoloski.

I've found him to be very honest and accommodating when I do business with him.
Frankly, I wouldn't be where I'm at with my 3 restorations without him. Not only with buying parts, but he's also given me great advice, guidance and contacts.

Glad things have worked out for you. I have desperately tried to give the man money for a part to no avail no matter what I try. I am as straightforward a person as you will ever meet and have zero problems doing business with most anyone. David would "appear" to have a plethora of parts which is why I tried no fewer than six times over three years to buy from him. Whether email or phone call his typical MO is to "ghost" the discussion never to be heard from again. He monopolizes Driveline with a gazillion ads for things one can never buy. In our last conversation, coincidentally where I was the one to first inform him of the Paragon sale, he literally and rudely hung up on me mid sentence mumbling "gotta take this call"...not even a "goodbye" or "call you back"...just CLICK He appears to be a "one man show" who is in WAY over his head and unable to run the business. So....do what you will...just trying to help out other vette enthusiasts to set expectations. PS...kind of reminds me of a "doctor" I know.

                    Wow! Sorry to hear this.
My experiences couldn’t be more different.
Yes, at times he’s been short with me on the phone, but I always assumed he’s busy working and has stuff to do or maybe had a long day. He’s a hard worker.

I just bought 4 items from him that he was advertising in the Driveline. One of those items was the 1100884 61 amp alternator I’d been looking for a long time.
Lastly, as a business owner myself for 36 years, I actually think he’s got it figured out way better than I do in terms of running his business.
No employees, no computer, collecting cool stuff from all over the country, and then helping out others in this amazing hobby.
Sorry OP, did not mean to derail this thread, but David Sokoloski has been so good to me and I just wanted to offer my opposing perspective.
