    Help Identifying Screw

I the soft top up for the 1st time on my 67 and found this screw and lock washer on the floor mat. My or may not be related to the top. The car also has a factory hard-top that I've never installed. I'm more familiar with 63's.

It is a fillister head (phillips #3) 5/16"-18, 7/8" long. The car does have a dark blue interior and there are traces of that color paint on the head

    Any clues?

They’re hex bolts on the 63 so that never occurred to me. The AIM for the 67 shows 3847757 (same as the 63) for that part which is hex-head bolt with washer and is used all over C2’s. The 67 is at another one of my garages and I’ll check tomorrow to see what the other bolts look like. Top Flight Automotive shows screws for 67 that look like my pictures so it’s a case where they changed in 67 part after the AIM was printed.

            Really appreciated

All of the seat tracks are fastened with the correct hex head bolt as per the 67 AIM. My car is a low number VIN, 6407, so the bolts listed for that year may have changed to the fillister head Phillips drive type that I found loose under the seat. Both types apparently correct with some unknown date for the switch.

              Any comments?

Thomas, Keith was referring to the screws that hold the tracks to the seat frame. Not the tracks to the floor. 67 Seat tracks can be removed from the seat frames. In the assembly picture they would be #6 and #7.

                Regards,

Hmmm, seat track hardware and top hardware were not installed when the car was painted.
Could it be associated with the rear deck hardware or underside of the dash ?
                    thx,

The seat track to frame is the only place I ever saw those screws

This makes sense now. Seat track to bottom of seat frame. There was evidence of wear on the edge of the screw head as well. The seat has absolutely no play. Given that it was on the front mat its probably a front screw and maybe accessible without pulling the seat. No big deal either way unless of course I find out the threads on the seat are stripped. As usual, one thing leads to another.

Thanks all for solving this "mystery".
