    1954 Carter carbs leaking gas

I just last year bought my 1954 C-1. The carb bottoms have rubber lines mounted on them and joined together to allow gas to leak out onto the ground after shutting the motor off. Is there a fix to not having some excess gas lying in the side draft carbs when shut down?

    The lines originally where steel.
The line set is available repro
There is a fix for the carb leak - use an updated needle and seat - There is a spring that is installed to keep the needle closed
