DeWitts now produces the radiators with the marks, but I think you actually have to ask them for this feature when you order.
Anyone ordering a radiator in the future should be sure to ask.

I just saw some new Dewitt radiators the weekend that had the marks. These had perfect "race track" oval indentations across the top. If you see one, you will quickly identify it as a reproduction. I also noticed the seam on the right side was very close to the balance tube outlet and wondered if that was specific to the year radiator. 65 and 63. That seam being that close to the edge should draw deductions for configuration I assume. My 67 has the seam 2.75" to the left of the tube, much farther away than what I saw on the new ones.
I guess I will come up with a way to reproduce the marks, Tony's article will be helpful. Since these marks are random across the top, I'm thinking of just cutting the Harrison foil decal removing an oval section of the decal on the radiator now and placing another decal over the top to make an indention effect. That may work. Worth a try. Thanks for all the responses.

I've noted the same, but at least they're now present.

I'm not sure how much the current (new-ish) owners of DeWitt wish to improve the details of their product such that they correct the items you note.

As Joe Lucia has said, I'm just happy that we can get them at all.
