    Humble beginning

As I was leafing through some of my Mike Hunt 56/57 research project material, I came across this inserted in the folder. FWIW for you long-time Vette guys.

This made me smile to think that other early members remember some of these ads
    And members from our beginning.

      Great ad.

I think of him every time I see a Saddle Tan 63 coupe.

I believe that car was a Z06 and David was the original owner. I also recall he sold it at a Barrett Jackson Scottsdale auction several years ago.

Yes he was the original owner, he was in the Navy stationed in Norfolk and would drive it back and forth from Norfolk to Long Island on the weekends to visit home...

An anomaly on David's car is that the WP and crank pulleys were red from the factory, not black.

I haven't heard from David in, well, decades. Is he still with us?

Facebook and Google suggest he's still in New Smyrna Beach FL

Last time I saw Dave and Patty they came to the wash and shine part of the regional in Kissimmee the last time it was held there, they were driving a C6 and we chatted for a while...Dave was the original judging chairman of the Metro Long Island Chapter when we started it in 1992

...might be the same original owner who sold his Z-06 at B-J 15-20 years ago and reported it was a very bad experience in that he thought he and his car were treated very disrespectfully. I recall swapping some emails with him, and I'm sure we made contact through the TDB, but I might be confusing him with someone else.

Duke...yes, your got it correct, it was Dave and I remember the auction and he got the worst coverage I've ever seen for an original owner totally restored Z06. A very quick hammer while bidding was still going on...

Duke I believe you are correct. I followed the thread David posted on the unpleasant experience he had with BJ in selling his car. He was careful to not disclose it until after he received payment.
