Easy one. Stay with the rubber bushings. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: Choice of Strut rod bushings
Polyurethane bushings will disintegrate since this joint requires a connection with two degrees of freedom. The same applies to the trailing arm bushings. There are many reports of poly bushings disintegrating in these two locations.
Heim joints should only be considered for serious, dedicating racing applications.
For normal road use including sporting driving, stick with OE replacement rubber bushings.

Re: Choice of Strut rod bushings
Anthony, I can only tell you what I am doing with my 12,000 mile B2Z car that my Dad and I ordered. Some parts are deteriorating a little but I have no intention of spirited or hi speed driving so the only thing I change are liquids. It is your choice, your car.- Top

Re: Choice of Strut rod bushings
Anthony-----
You can replace the bushings if you wish. The replacements are slightly different than the originals as the originals were vulcanized-in-place and replacements have a thin steel outer shell. The GM part number was 3829519 but it's discontinued. They can be easily found on eBay, though.
Personally, I would much rather replace the bushings with the GM replacements rather than go with a new, reproduction strut rod.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
