    58 Rear Bumper Help

On m A previous owner of my 58 had fiber glassed over all of the rear bump holes. I am going through the process of cutting the holes back out and have a question about the holes that are on the sides of the rear quarter panels.

You can see in the pics below that there is a circle piece that is covering the hole. How should I tackle this? Can I just try and pry that circle piece off or will I need to sand it off or should I leave it.

    Appreciate any help here.

    Thanks,
    Jason

That disc is an original reinforcement for the fender where the bumper bracket and rubber pad will utimately go. So you'll want to leave it there. Though for future reference, if you need to do fiberglass work, you can remove pieces of repair/added fiberglass by heating the putty up its attached with using a heat gun and using a paint scraper. You just need to be careful not to burn the fiberglass.
