Supplier for correct 56-62 Window runs with white threads

    Hi folks,

Does anyone know who the supplier is for the correct window runs with felt & white threads for 1956-62 cars?
I bought a set from Keen Parts, but the part is actually the replacement style without white threads, and may well operate better but incorrect. I informed them they should update their website and will be returning them.

Most vendors seem to only offer the replacement style except one... I see RPI Designs sells them for a good chunk of change and wondering if anyone knows if they are the manufacturer or they may be available elsewhere?

Unfortunately, it appears the runs with the white stitching have been discontinued. The ones Corvette Central used to sell were excellent, I think they were the supplier. RPI shows them as discontinued as well. Perhaps you might be able to find some new old stock.

Thanks Dan. Hmm wonder if I can take some black felt and stitch them myself then glue them into a repro stainless window run... does anyone have an original and can check the stitch length?

Ian, I have the white stitched older CC reproductions and they measure 1/8 inch for the stitch with a 1/16 spacing between stiches

            Thanks Dan.
Hey Gary, I got my hopes up, but by my reading they are the same as others. He says "Are White stitches really worth an extra fourty (sic) bucks?"

Hello Ian, I have a (62) and needed the same thing done for mine. take your originals and send them off to Restoration Specialties, 1 814-467-9842. They will rebuild your old ones or make new ones for you with the white thread in them. This is what I did and they worked out just great. One of the problems with the other after market ones out there is that the width of the channel is only 3/8 of an inch, and it needs to be 5/8 of an inch wide to go around the window glass chrome molding. The window glass in my car slides up and down very easy with the ones that RS did for me.
