When in 1971 did GM change blue door certification sticker process?

At some point GM changed their process from creating the VIN information by running it over the protectoplate to typing it and having no potential engine or transmission info showing. I know it happened before 19359, and well past the middle of the production run (past at least 13700). 71 guys--would you take a look?

Mike I believe the white roadster tag above shows the top of a character for the Transmission below the 7.

It seems that the workers either became more careful OR they did not pull the handle on the card imprint machine the entire way.

111130 has most of the engine and trans assembly stamps

121783 shows only slight artifacts of the top of the trans stamp characters.

When going through the recent blue compliance label thread - it appears the label format changed when the Calendar year changed from 1971 to 1972

Mike did you notice the 3-71 on yours and 3-71 on mine are different characters?
Mine with a flat top 3 and no foot on the 1.

Just thinking here... could it be that the ribbon on the transfer was running out of ink or the roller was not transferring out as far on the edge?

Wonder if coincided with the change from carbon transfer to noncarbon transfer paper on the multipart forms? - the purple color appearing on the tank sheets?
