Judges Training Retreat Now Just a Few Days Away

Ladies and Gentlemen:

Our 2024 Judges Training Retreat begins on Thursday, March 14.

Group 1 students will check in on Thursday, and should pick up their credentials at an informal reception from 5:00 to 6:30 PM that day, in the host hotel's Delaney Foyer.

Group 2 students will check in on Friday (3/15), and their informal reception and pick up will also run from 5:00 to 6:30 that day, in the Delaney Foyer.

Classes will start on Friday (Group 1) or Saturday (Group 2). Your class may start as early as 6:45 AM. Your exact class starting time will be on your name badge. On Saturday (Group1) or Sunday (Group 2) you will be in the Garage Bay, practice judging on four different Corvettes. Your day in the Garage bay will run from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

I have asked the Garage Bay Instructors to bring a few flashlights and mirrors, but if you want to bring your own items, that is fine.

I sent you an email but wanted to drop a note here as well. Due to some work obligations, I will not be able to attend the event this weekend. I am registered for Group 2. Hopefully, you have a "waiting list" and someone will benefit from my paid spot.

Near the end of the Garage session I was talking with some student judges. I asked them what they thought of the Retreat and if they learned anything during the weekend. One comment stuck in my head and I thought I should share it. He said "Coming into the Retreat I had a confidence level of 20 to 25% when judging cars. Now I feel I'm at 75-80%"

I don't think we cold do much better than that. Now that Judge will increase his knowledge and confidence with every car he judges.

Thanks for posting these Vinnie. There was an old looking guy in a few photos I didn't recognize... then realized it was me.

Kudos to Dave and his team for hosting a great event.
