2) any visible body or engine compartment modifications, such as engine compartment modified for V/8?

I think you meant SO 90090 was for 1956 SR-2 Jerry Earl '56 vin #2522 finished 6-15-56

It is on the Passenger side upper firewall.

The car was used for drag racing. It has a Pontiac 421 engine with 2-4 barrel carbs, a roll bar, looks to be a Pontiac axle

Get some good photos of the firewall and both inner fenders to compare to see if they were modified for V/8
