    Removing shock mounts

What's the safest and easiest way to remove rear shock mounts on a 66 big block. These are not rusted on, there on a recently restored vehicle.

    Jim,
Remove the cotter pin, remove the castle nut, partially re-install the castle nut backwards (so that the "castles" are facing the mount). Grab a 5# BFH and give the nut a good whack. Should pop right off.
