Re: Extra tail light point loss for judging
Chris, I think the exterior guys will take a minor deduct for the extra hole in tail light panel. At any rate it’s nothing to worry over, just when you go to judging-meet make to get the operations score100% and make sure you have a fire ext. and a NCRS decal, battery shut off this will get you an extra 10 points.New England chapter member, 63 Convert. 327/340- Chapter/Regional/national Top Flight, 72 coupe- chapter and regional Top Flight.- Top

Re: Extra tail light point loss for judging
Yes, and they deduct if they have been removed. My '63 had the dealer added California six tail light option, it was removed, but I still got a 3 point deduction for that repair.Big Tanks In the High Mountains of New Mexico- Top

Re: Extra tail light point loss for judging
ChrisOk, my 67’ coupe is very original except for 1 repaint in 1969 in the original color and an added third tail light at that time. My question, what is the point hit for the extra rear light? I’m thinking of having my car judged but worry about not able to flight judge due to the modification. Thanks
Read Standard Deduction Guideline #12, Body Fiberglass and Component Fit. Custom body modifications. Expect that six taillight mod will result in 100% Deduction for Originality and Condition on Exterior line #3.

Re: Extra tail light point loss for judging
Bill, If the repairs are done properly with the correct panels and bonding material there will be no deductions.
If the repairs are detectable then an appropriate deduction for the % of surface area will be proper.- Top

Re: Extra tail light point loss for judging
1 original tail light panel with 2 holes is a minor deduction. The standard deduction states you deduct 5% for each panel up to 4 panels maximum with atypical color or finish. Or, if it is an original panel but altered, you could score it on condition. I would need to judge the panel before deciding. Regardless it is still 3-4 points.Mike Doty

Bob-Wingate-with-six-lamp-Corvette.jpgYou should definitely have it judged, it won't be a big hit, and you should be proud of carrying on the tradition Bob started at Clippinger Chevrolet in promoting the California Six Tali Light Option.......Big Tanks In the High Mountains of New Mexico- Top
