    VIN tag Replacement question

Looking for advice/feedback regarding a VIN tag (chassis), that was replaced some time ago (for reasons unknown) on a 1966 C2.
The replacement VIN tag indicates matching numbers for the rest of the stamped #s on the car.
Title is clear in the state it is registered.
Question I have is... How much does this tag replacement affect the value of the vehicle

welcome to the Club and the Technical Discussion Board.... I can tell you that any replacement vin tag will negatively affect the value of any car. By how much? I can't say.. But, does the car in question have a State issued replacement vin with OEM vin number? Or other number? or, does the car have a reproduction vin tag, that is obviously not an OEM tag? The answer will help to answer the question of how much the decrease in value might be. Good luck,

A picture of said VIN tag would be most helpful, as well.

        Re: VIN tag Replacement question

Not sure if it's an OEM replacement tag. I'll be seeing the car tomorrow and can hopefully discover more detail from the seller. The state (TX) issued a clean title on the vehicle. The vehicle was restored about a dozen or so years ago and it's possible the replacement tag was put on then.

UPDATE: I've decided not to pursue this vehicle with the VIN tag issue. Thanks for all the feedback anyway. I'm new to the "C2 world" and still learning.

          Re: VIN tag Replacement question

In your initial question you stated vin tag (chassis). The vin tag was attached to the body chassis under the glove box, I would be interested in some pictures of your Vin Tag.

          Thanks, JR

            Welcome to Tech Board.

In addition to VIN Tag photo, post a sharp photo of car's Trim Tag.
