    C3 Blower Motor Date Codes

I've got a 72 and a 78 blower motor and their date codes. Early C3s, actually the 70-72 TIMJG, states the format as "The date code format uses a digit for the month and two-digits for the year." Yet, in this 78, motor, I see a 45 (Julian?) and a single digit for the year (8). The motor came out of a Pace Car so a Julian date code of 45 of Feb 14 1978, falls within the generally accepted six-month rule.

    What am I missing here?

    Tom

My old (removed) 1980 blower motor has no DELCO stamping at all. Just a "Made in USA" stamping with larger font "A" "C" "I" stamping just below.

Reverse side, stick-on label, showed manufacturer was "EVERCO INDUSTRIES, IN" "Lincolnwood, Ill 60646" with a Serial Number.

Fan has part number "3036931" that shows up as a DELCO p# for a Camaro Corvette Blower Motor Fan

Expect motor unit was replaced at some time.
