    '54 History

I have ownership history for my '54 back to 1972. At that time it was owned by Ed Thiebaud of Fresno California. The car was on the cover of the Corvette News Magazine 1972 Feb/March. Also a picture of the car inside the magazine which shows the partial California license plate KSF 3.... Is there any way I can trace the history further back. 28 years of missing history.

      Brian,

Dunno if one of the two '54s listed in the image below is the one you got from Ed, but these are all the early Corvettes he apparently owned as of the 1969 VCCA Roster (courtesy of Rich Kossum PTSC).

The highlighted VINs are ones that were not 1953-54-55s (looks like there was a '63 SWC there, too)

Also, you may find this article interesting...

      Enjoy...

1953 vin 005 was bought from ed by randy Hickman of Bridgeport w va in the 70's. randy went out to calif, rented a box truck and hauled the 53 back. to w va. randy was a charter member of the mid Atlantic chapter of NCRS and a good friend of mine. last we spoke, about 2 years ago, he was still living in w va. he had a couple of strokes and as far as I know he's still above ground. 003 was sold to an atony in upstate NY , restored, then sold. I don't know the current whereabouts of 005.
003 was purchased by howard kirsch, les bieri, and john amgwert in the 90's, restored, then sold after the deaths of howard and les.

Am I correct that the only original part of 003 is the VIN plate itself?
