I replaced the door hinge tension springs and hinge pins and bushings on my 58 Corvette because one of the tension springs was broken and it was making a noise when closing the doors.
When the doors are fully opened it has some resistance when trying to close (tension spring) and you have to push hard to close and it makes a loud popping noise.
I read about greasing the hinges, so I applied some moly grease to the hinges but that didn't make any difference.
I read about using white lithium grease instead.
Anyone have this problem before and what did you do to fix it?
Thanks,
Jason
