/63 SCW - Wire from Starter to Coil

I need to replace the wire from the R terminal of the starter to the + connection of the coil on my 63 340 hp car. If I am reading the wiring diagram correctly it should be a pink 18 Ga. wire. To me 18 Ga. seems to be a little light for the task it has to perform. Is this correct or am I reading the diagram incorrectly?

Hi Norm. I Just Checked My 63 Shop Manual And I Read It Using 18 Gauge Pink Wire. I Replaced Mine With 18 Gauge Wire Several Years Ago

What exactly is a 63 SCW? I know what a 63 SWC is, but fill me in.

An SCW is what you get when you hit the key to post a new thread without proofreading. I was wondering if anyone was going to call me out on that one but it was too late when I noticed it.
