I have previously used Reliable and Passport Transport and have been very pleased. Has anyone used SGT or Sherpa? I am shipping 3 Corvettes from Texas to New Hampshire, enclosed. Thanks, Steve

Re: Recommend these car shippers?
I shipped my '64 from Florida to Washington state in May 2024. I originally started with Montway, one of the largest brokers out there. However, they failed to show up on the date for which I paid extra for them to show up, and then after I emphasized how much of a problem that was they offered to send over an open trailer (even though I also paid extra for an enclosed trailer) and would ship it to an unknown shipping yard to sit outside for an unknown amount of time until they could get an enclosed trailer to do the originally agreed enclosed trailer shipment across country (though late). Given that not showing up, open trailer, and sitting outside were their "solutions", I had to fire them and fly back home while relying on the car seller to help with my next shipper.
I then went with SGT, which generally did a very good job. They are a broker, as well. So remember that you are getting some sub-contractor other than SGT, though SGT has a selection process and some pull with the sub-contractor to do a good job. They come well rated for transporting nicer cars. They were better at showing up on a planned date with an enclosed trailer. Unfortunately, the sub-contractor Affordable Auto Transport did scratch the paint during transport. I had to go out and get several estimates and deal with a lot of back and forth work. Affordable Auto Transport thought the estimates were too expensive and instead wanted to pick up my car and take it to a generic body shop who had no specific plan on how to properly fix the paint on a higher quality show type of car. I put my foot down and involved SGT representatives. To their credit, SGT did actively serve as both my intermediary and advocate, eventually getting Affordable Auto Transport to pay the lower of the two (proper solution) estimates and I took responsibility for transporting my car back and forth to the paint repair shop. So, SGT did deliver well on customer service and ensuring that everything was addressed properly. I understand that issues can happen. Though the battle with their sub-contractor was time consuming and a bit stressful, SGT did what they could to make everything right in the end.- Top
