Painting 67 gas door?

Anyone have a plan to paint a 67 gas lid. I have tried using single stage red twice and not happy with results. trying to mask the flag and extensions is the problem, I know lots have been done before, got to be an easier way

Please go public with what you find as I've had my gas door at my painter for longer than I want to think about . He's painted it at least twice and still no joy . The masking is the big issue with the job and I would like to know how the factory did it and how we in the present time get a satisfactory finish . Thanks Jeff

Joe responded to my call today, had a nice conversation, Joe is involved in restoring the assembly correctly, but does not do painting. In our conversation we both thought most corvette restoration shops could do the job, it a very tedious job of masking!
